The quarantines imposed on Juventus and Real Madrid players forced UEFA to postpone the two eighth return.

While the future of the two European cups is pending – a meeting will be held next Tuesday at the initiative of UEFA to decide on the outcome – two knockout stages of the Champions League return have been postponed by the European body.

Unsurprisingly, the Juventus and Real Madrid teams are unable to play their match since they were placed in quarantine. On the bianconero side, Daniele Rugani was tested positive , while for the people of Madrid, a case was detected within the basketball team .

The Juventus- Lyon and Manchester City-Real Madrid matches, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, are therefore postponed to a later date, while the competition could be suspended until then. “Following the quarantine imposed on Juventus and Real Madrid CF players, the next matches in the UEFA Champions League will not take place as planned,” UEFA said in a statement.

“More information about the two matches will be released in due course.” The players of Rudi Garcia, winners on the smallest of margins to go (1-0) will have to wait before they can try to reach the quarterfinals again for the first time in ten years.
