Barcelona: it's time to hold on or shut up. Drop points here essentially end the title race if Real Madrid wins on Sunday morning. Barça lack confidence and form, and they are going to need a bit of Lionel Messi magic to get three points. Luis Suárez has not been particularly sharp outside the 2-2 draw at Celta Vigo in Round 32, but this is an opportunity for him to really get going against a physical defense. Expect Messi to try to play Suarez a little out of the box with Villarreal enjoying sitting down. The quick combination of passes will be key on the box, it will be key to finding space.

Villarreal: The form has been sensational. In their four wins in the last five, they have not conceded a goal. In total, there are two goals conceded in the last 470 minutes. They have controlled possession, have been disinterested in the last third and are playing as well as any team in La Liga. They hope to get a result here and could do it. Expect Barça to have trouble tearing down this defense, at least early.

Prediction

Barça keep their title hopes alive with a vital victory on the road. Choose: Barcelona 2, Villarreal 1
