Storylines
Ajax: Historically speaking, the Dutch national team has the upper hand over their English competitors. Of course, that doesn't mean much since the last time these two players faced off in a competitive environment it was in 1966 - Ajax scored an impressive 5-1 victory. Now, one year after their Champions League campaign ended in the group stage, they are instead hoping for a repeat of the 2018-2019 season, as they reached the semi-finals, despite many of the key pieces moving from that campaign to other clubs.
Liverpool: It is also a possible European season to reclaim the Premier League champions, although the necessity for this compensatory arc has diminished thanks to two major achievements. First, the previous description of the champions of England. Jürgen Klopp managed to achieve a historic 2019-20 season as Liverpool claimed their first championships in the Premier League era, ending a three-decade drought. Second, there are only two years left for the Champions League title.
prediction
Liverpool are the favorites in this group and may not go out of their way to secure an opening victory, but they will likely continue to beat the Dutch side, which has been forgotten for most of recent memory. Selection: Liverpool 2, Ajax 0
